Named & Legendary Items

The red glow and the blue glow. Named (Famed) items are ordinary gear that rolled randomized bonuses — better numbers, a former owner's name. Legendary items are fixed uniques with effects no smith can forge. Here's exactly what a named item can roll, and what every Legendary does.

How Named items roll

A named item starts from a base weapon/armor, then improves a few stats by random amounts inside fixed bands. Durability is always modified, then two other stats are improved. The tables below show the resulting possible min–max ranges — an actual drop lands somewhere inside them, so use the high end as the "god-roll" ceiling, not a guarantee.

Named modifier bands
TypeDurabilityThe other rolled stats
Weapons×0.9–1.4Regular dmg ×1.1–1.3 · Direct +8–16% · Armor dmg +10–30% · Shield dmg ×1.5–2 (if >15) · Head +10–30% (if >0) · Max Fatigue ×0.5–0.8 (if <−9) · skill fatigue −1–3
Ranged×0.9–1.4As weapons, plus accuracy +5–15% and ammo +1–3 (throwing)
Shields×1.2–1.6Melee Def ×1.2–1.4 · Ranged Def ×1.2–1.4 · Max Fatigue ×0.7–0.9 · skill fatigue −1–3
Armor×1.1–1.25Max Fatigue +3–9 (to a max of −8 total)
Helmets×1.1–1.25Max Fatigue +1–4 (to a max of −4 total)

— type to filter the reliquary.

Named weapons

Base Dmg is the underlying weapon's damage; Max Roll is the highest the named version can reach. Every column sorts.

One-handed

Two-handed

Ranged (also roll +5–15% accuracy, +1–3 ammo)

Named shields

Named body armor

Named armor only ever improves durability and fatigue — but the best (Enhanced Coat of Plates at up to 400) outclasses anything craftable.

Named helmets

Legendary items

Fixed uniques — same stats every time, with an effect you can't get anywhere else. These are the blue-glow drops worth reorganizing a brother around.

Where they drop

Attackable locations can hold one or two named items beyond what champions carry. The chance scales with the location's resources and distance from the nearest settlement — far-flung Orc/Goblin Settlements, Barbarian Sanctuaries and Undead Necropolises/Buried Castles have the best odds (roughly +33% base before the distance bonus), while small hideouts are near-zero. Each item is about equally likely to be a weapon, shield, helmet or armor, and a location's own theme item is twice as likely as a generic one. Legendaries come from specific legendary locations and crisis rewards.
